Support SAO: Types of Gifts

Observatory contributors have several choices for making gifts to SAO:

Unrestricted gifts provide the most flexibility because they allow us to nurture promising, but untested, ideas and other research that is not supported by established funding entities (such as NASA and the National Science Foundation.) Unrestricted gifts can be made online at: http://www.cfa.harvard.edu/support/howto.html

Special project gifts support a specific research or education effort -- or scientist -- and may be paid over several years or in stages according to the project’s timetable. Please contact Amanda Preston to discuss a special project gift.

Memorial and honorary gifts recognize individuals or loved ones by supporting curiosity-based research. Please contact Amanda Preston to discuss memorial or honorary gifts.

Endowment gifts can ensure future financial stability by creating funds to provide annual income in perpetuity for important programs. Please contact Amanda Preston for more information on establishing an endowed fund at SAO.

Future gifts can provide financial benefits to you and help support SAO’s mission and programs. Bequests, trusts, gift annuities and other planned gifts can be negotiated today and available for SAO's use at a later date. Please contact Amanda Preston to discuss making a future gift to SAO.
